
...Holy shit, I think HORSE grew up a little. Look at it this way: if R. Borlax was their curious, fanciful childhood, The Mechanical Hand the transient tween stage, and A Natural Death the clumsy puberty, "Desperate Living" has to be the all-encompassing realistic young adult. Gone are the cartoony topics of Megaman villains and the Ninja Turtles, HTB have hit a grittier, heavier sound. Of course, this doesn't mean the trademark 8-bit moogs are gone; in fact, they fit as well as they always have, oddly enough. It must just be that Nintendocore magic. Album drops October 6th, be sure to pick it up if you're a fan of any sort of hardcore.
