Due to the fact that I enjoy and highly recommend this album, I posted it on this blog. That way, the public might become aware of it and consequently listen to it as well
It was a good year but the lighthouse has run its course, it seems, so the light's finally burnt out. Thanks to all the assholes who steal music and justify it like we do on here, thanks to all the elitists who judged our tastes incessantly, thanks to the losers that posted comments and reminded us how bromo we are.
Adebisi Shank pretty much mix math rock with fap rock (i.e. hair metal of the 80s.) so think like van halen mixed with maps and atlases and a touch of masturbatory plays. have the first album stream the second
if you're looking at this blog then you likely enjoy jay and pavement so have some jayvement. might make a megapost of all the good mashup albums i know of soon so be on watch if you're interested
When you get new music you like, you listen to it a lot because it is pleasing to you in some way (I know, profound). Because Illmatic is what got me into hip hop, no other hip hop album has been able to bring me the sustained satisfaction that Illmatic has. Then I discovered Aquemini. It's not Illmatic but it's damn close.
a fantastic, emotional, chilled to ice alt rock release by a band i should have really gotten into years ago but never listened to my friends telling me to
Benn Jordan's sound has certainly evolved since Soundtrack to a Vacant Life. Though I'm hesitant to call Arboreal his magnum opus for the sole reason that I only own the two aforementioned albums, it's not a huge stretch of the imagination. Jordan combines pensive/ambient electronics with rugged and intricate beats to form a real work of art here. The instrumentation is less varied than on Soundtrack and I particularly missed the folky acoustics of tracks like "Steel for Pappa," but what Jordan loses from Soundtrack in transition to Arboreal he regains twofold through the sheer power and subtlety of his soundscapes. For sure one of the best yet of 2010. link to the album here CLICK ME
Creativity, it's a known fact that grass increases creativity from eight, to eleven times. In fact, everyone finds that they're more creative stoned, than straight. So remember! M-A-R-I-J-U... A-J-U-A-N-A Mari-...juana, Marijuana
Awesome black metal with enough shoegaze influence to keep the whiners happy and enough blastbeats to keep the corpsepainted churchburners icy and bleak.
oh by the way this is a side project from Neige of Alcest and Amesoeurs. Some of you might know who they are.
Dudes from Croatia make an awesome death metal record, throw in some crust influence, add a traditional Croatian instrument called a tambura, call it the same thing as an Opeth record. What could go wrong?
Ok so um "Tightrope" is the pop song of the year and The Archandroid is the pop album of the year. Like I am having trouble describing how awesome this is. So I'll leave you with this:
people of earth. let's go to space. the two best goddamn 20+ minute epic space rock songs you'll hear all year followed by a perfect 4 minute rock song. shit like this makes people love music.
I'll be damned if this isn't one of the best albums of 2010 and it came out in fucking January.
If the drums alone don't make you shit your pants, maybe the saxophone will...or maybe this picture of the band:
